Both teams defeated Charlton County in a non region contest last week.

The Pierce County High School girls tennis team won region and the boys finished as runners up this season.
Both teams defeated Charlton County in a non region contest last week.
Girls will host the first round of state playoffs at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 19) at PCHS vs Richmond Technical Career School (Augusta).
The Lady Bears finished 10-2 in region play and 16-2 overall.
At number one singles, Grace Christopher defeated Jerea Timmon 6-0 and 6-1. Rebecca Tyre beat Noel Crosby 6-1, 6-2 at number 2 singles and number three singles Marli Walker defeated Trinity Crosby 6-1, 6-3.
In number one doubles Maura Kate Waters and Mary Kathryn Cox defeated Alli Clark and Daisha Cooper, 6-1 and 6-1.
At number two doubles, Mattie Lee and Jasmine Sergent defeated Chloe Milton Williams and Crystal Riechloff 6-0, 6-0.
In the boys match, Jeb Bradley at number one singles needed three sets to win over Tanner Murray. Bradley dropped the first set 7-5, but rallied to win 6-4 and 10-6. J.C. Nimmer at number two singles defeated Blaydon Lansdell 6-0 and 6-4.
In the third set, Aaden Carlson defeated Mason Waltron 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles, the combo of Davis Hersey and Peyton Thompson beat Caleb Bryant 7-6 and 6-3 and at number two doubles
Bennett Higginson and Garrett Page defeated Tony McDowell and Jason Hamelton, 6-0, 6-2.
Both teams lost to Brantley to wrap up the season.
The girls lost to Brantley 3-2.
Number one singles Christopher lost 6-1, 6-2 to Brooklyn Wildes. Tyre lost to Raylee Strickland 6-0,6-0 and Walker lost to Summer Colley 6-4, 6-0, 7-5, 7-6.
In doubles, Waters and Cox defeated Chasadee Waldron and Emma Jacobs 6-2, 6-3 and Lee and Sergent defeated Jaycie Riggins and Kaleigh Oakie 6-1, 6-1.
The boys were swept at doubles and singles by Brantley County on Wednesday. Bradley at number one fell 6-0, 6-0 to Ben Smith, Nimmer at number two singles fell 7-5, 6-1 to Bryson Allison and number three singles Carlson fell to Rohand Davis 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles the number one team of Hersey and Thompson fell to Garrison Chesser and Tucker O’Quinn 6-0,6-0 and Higginson and Page fell to Patrick O’Quinn and Jayce Chapman 6-0, 6-3.
The boys team finished as the runners up in the region.
