JoAnn Tillman Steverson Hutchinson

JoAnn Tillman Steverson Hutchinson, 82, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at her residence.  

Born in Waresboro August 8, 1940, she had lived in Pierce County since the late 1970s. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed for numerous people while also being a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She would go on to receive her GED followed by her LPN degree. She went to work for the Pierce County Nursing Home then Baptist Village Nursing Home where she would retire. She loved bowling, wearing crazy hats  and her pet dogs, Bell, Jax, and Cupid.

She was a daughter of the late Lonnie S. and Josephine Louise McDaniel Tillman. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James “Jim” Steverson; her second husband, Oscar Hutchinson; her sister, Frances Kay and both of her brothers, Lonnie Tillman Jr. and Wayne Tillman.  

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Don Roberson, Blackshear; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Cheryl Steverson, Wilmington, NC and Jeff and Susan Steverson and Joe and Beth Steverson, all of Blackshear; 13 grandchildren, Kristi (Chris Kerstiens) Stainback, Jamie (Aaron) Soodek, Hillary McDougall, Chelsea Steverson, Christopher (Abigail) Steverson, Mallie Lee, Harrison (Logan) Lee, Briant Lee, Ashley Fowler, Dustin (Kelsey) Cloud, Kady Cloud, Steve Roberson and Joel Roberson; 11 great-grandchildren, Toby, Oscar, Kira, Abby, Nathan, Peyton, Micheal, Asher, Luke, Misham and Lynnlee; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the funeral home.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
