Anne Crosby Bennett, 89, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday morning, April 12, 2023, at the Bacon County Hospital in Alma.
Born in Birmingham, AL August 19, 1933, she had lived in Pierce County since the early 1960s. She was retired from the State of Georgia Prison System having been the librarian at Ware State Prison. She loved to read, to talk with people and get to know about them, and was always so good at sending cards or notes to people for all occasions. She was a member of the Blackshear Presbyterian Church.
She was the daughter of the late Jesse Levi Sr. and Hazel Atchison Crosby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leon Bennett; a son, Len Parrish and her brother, Jesse L. Crosby, Jr.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Sandra Parrish, Blackshear, Tommy and Brenda Parrish, Clinton, SC and Pat and Shannon Bennett, Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Brian Parrish, Stacie Anne (Steve) Waters, Lindsay (Scott) Smith, Judson Drew Parrish, Nathan (Candace) Parrish, Carson Payne Bennett and Patrick Charles “Patch” Bennett; six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 3:30-4 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Blackshear Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, from the Blackshear Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.
