Larry David Cox

Larry David Cox, 75, of Salem, AL, formerly of Blackshear, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025 at his residence.
Born November 18, 1949, in Richland County, SC, he had worked for Gilman Paper Co in Blackshear prior to moving to Salem.
He was a son of the late David and Geraldine Roberson Cox. He was also preceded in death by a son, Foster Cox and a granddaughter, Taryn Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marie Foster Cox, Salem, AL; sons, Michael (Leslie) Cox, Columbus and Christopher Cox (Kay Smith), Salem, AL; a brother, Donald Cox (Aline Leggett), Patterson; grandchildren, Tyler Cox, Charleston, SC, Christian Jordan (Madison Marie), Camp Pendleton, CA and Nathan Cox and Ayden Cox, both of Salem, AL; great-granddaughter, Violet Simmons and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers for the Columbus visitation, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Friday, October 3, at the funeral home in Blackshear.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 3, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
