JeMar Lincoln, former PCHS academic and athletic standout, has been hired as the assistant director of Louisiana State University (LSU’s) Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) Department.
“It is a great feeling to be doing something that I truly want to do professionally,” said Lincoln.
Lincoln says he is thankful to have been raised in Pierce and Ware counties.
“It’s amazing that I came from playing in backyards there and attended Patterson Elementary and now I am at a major, national university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,” he said.
Lincoln said it is proof that faith in God, good mentors and coaches and hard work make anything possible.
“I am thankful for my relationship with God and for all the people who helped me along the way. All of it has prepared me to work through adversity and has helped me to get where I am now. I hope to make a positive impact wherever I am.”
In his role with the university, Lincoln is responsible for supervising 11 student interns and two graduate assistants. He provides educational programs and resources to LSU’s student athletes. Additionally, he meets with administrative staff on current issues that relate to LSU’s continuous improvement efforts. He also coordinates podcast sessions with student athletes from different backgrounds, attends administrative meetings.
Lincoln points out that overall, he just enjoys the upbeat collegiate environment of LSU.
The young professional says he is fascinated by the Tigers’ mascot.
“He is a real, live Tiger named Mike,” he said. Lincoln did his share of seeking and searching before he landed at LSU.
He attended Pierce and Ware County School Systems and graduated from Ware County High School in 2017. He was an academic honors student throughout his entire athletic career. His accomplishments in high school included academic honor graduate, first team all region selection in football and basketball for both the Bears and Gators and he received all state honors while he was with the Gators.

Lincoln received a full scholarship upon graduation to Furman University where he excelled in academics and on the football field. He played quarterback for Furman. He was selected as the X Factor Southern Conference (SoCon) conference player of the week against the Citadel during his playing career. His performance was a key factor in the Furman Paladins winning the SoCon Conference Championship Title.
Lincoln decided to transfer to Georgia Southern University (GSU) in Statesboro his junior year and pursue his passion for basketball. He played two years of basketball for the Eagles. He achieved his goal of competing in Division 1 athletics in both football and basketball.
He was selected as the spokesperson for Georgia Southern athletics and was one of the guest speakers at the Donor Relations Appreciation dinner in Savannah during his time at GSU.
Lincoln then decided to pursue a master’s degree in professional communication and leadership. He was under the supervision of legendary GSU Nalongtional Football Champions Tracy Ham and Adrian Peterson. Lincoln says they, along with the athletic director and other key personnel did a phenomenal job preparing him for life after collegiate sports.
Lincoln is engaged to fellow Georgia Southern alumnus Maya Herring of Albany. The couple will be married in August in Albany. Lincoln is the son of local educators Jerome and Jeanette Lincoln and is the brother of Jaeden Lincoln. Lincoln is a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Patterson.
