Joel Nathan Corbett

Joel Nathan Corbett, 82, of Blackshear, passed away suddenly Sunday, evening, February 22, 2026, at his residence.
Born in Savannah September 22, 1943, he graduated high school and later Savannah Tech before enlisting to serve in the United States Army.  He would move from Savannah to Blackshear in the late 1970s, where he would live until his passing.  He went to work for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier, from which he would retire after many years of service.  A master tinkerer, he also had an infatuation with trains and loved to share his knowledge with his family.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was a son of the late Jeff Harris Sr. and Margie Thomas Corbett.  He was also preceded in death by all of his siblings: June Jolissaint, Gloria Mullins and Jeff Harris Corbett Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Norma Guest Corbett, Blackshear; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Amy Corbett, Blackshear and Richard and Kim Corbett, Cumming; four grandchildren, Luke (Eliza) Corbett, Nealie Corbett, Ben Corbett and Will Corbett; three step-grandchildren, Blake (McKenzy) Bishop, Brantley Willis and Bryce Willis; one step-great-grandchild, Kambree Bishop and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
As per his wishes, memorialization will be by cremation, with no service to be held.
