CALLAHAN, Fla. — Mr. Shuan Michael Jeffers, 53 of Callahan, Fla., passed away Sunday evening, October 19, 2025 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla, following an extended illness.

Born January 27, 1972, in Waycross, Jeffers was the son of Jonathan Craig and Kathryn Vaughn Jeffers. He was a 1990 graduate of Pierce County High School and a 1992 graduate of Okefenokee Technical College with a degree in Forestry.

Through the years, Jeffers had lived in Statesboro, Reidsville, Savannah and Blackshear before moving to Callahan earlier this year. He had worked as a plumber, an Ag Inspector with the State of Georgia Department of Agriculture, a maintenance technician with Memorial Hospital in Savannah and a machinist with CSX Transportation.

Jeffers enjoyed attending Journey Church in Blackshear. He was your typical South Georgia guy as an avid outdoorsman, master fisherman, enjoyed racing and was a Georgia football fan.

Jeffers also enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a loving husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick and Doris Jeffers; grandfather, Tommy Vaughn; three aunts, Sandra Hooks, Vicky Lynn Vaughn and Alice Jeffers; and cousin, Eric Vaughn.

Survivors include his wife, Ashley Hart Craig Jeffers of Callahan; three children, Walt Jeffers of Brooklet (who shared the same birthday as his dad and was considered his greatest birthday present ever), Jordan Craig and Ansley Craig of Callahan; parents, Jon and Kathy Jeffers of Blackshear; sister, Stephanie Ebersole (husband Phillip) of Blackshear; grandmother, Marlene Tomlinson of Blackshear; his in-laws, David and Tish Hart of Callahan; sisterin- law, Charla Carter (husband Quinton) of Jasper, Fla,; aunts and uncles, Jimmy and Bernadette Vaughn of Blackshear, Keith Jeffers of Waycross, Rev. Richard and Karen Jeffers of Waycross; nieces and nephews, Caleb Walker of Mooresville, N.C., Taylor Dixon (fiancé Michael Dahl) of Hoboken, Kameron Ebersole of Waycross and Carlee Warren of Jasper, Fla.; and many friends and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Thursday, October 23 at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Wednesday, October 22) from 6 p.m.8 p.m.
