NAHUNTA — Donald E. Renshaw passed away Sunday, September 14 2025.

Renshaw was born on a farm on the outskirts of the Okef enokee Swamp near St. George. His upbringing on the farm with his parents and eight siblings profoundly shaped his life.

Renshaw served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in California, where he met his wife, Martha, at Bethany Bible College. In the early 1970s, he founded ‘Renco Construction Company’.

His faith in Jesus led him to his roles as Song leader, Sunday school teacher, Assistant Pastor, and Youth leader, as well as serving eight years on the Charlton County School Board.

Renshaw enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and writing poems. The family home was a welcoming sanctuary where friends became family, and there was always room for one more.

Along with his parents, Renshaw was preceded in death by a brother, Erwin Renshaw; and four sisters, Ida Mae Lentz, Nina Dillon, Flora Petty and Norma Renshaw.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Watterson Renshaw; loving children, Cindy (Charles) West, Craig (Phyllis) Renshaw, Tim (Carol) Renshaw and Randy Renshaw; three brothers: Arthur Renshaw, Alva (Mary Jane) Renshaw and Earl “Peanut” (Sue) Renshaw; his sister-inlaw, Lora (Dan) Pruitt; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral services was held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Knox and Rev. Tim Hall officiating.

Burial followed in Camp Pinckney Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.

Pallbearers were Keith Daniels, Mitch Fuller, Earl Johnson, Shelton Johnson, Craig Phillips and Mark Thrift.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home.
