WAYCROSS — Mrs. Frances Massee Register passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Baptist Village Retirement Communities.

She was born in Macon, October 15, 1926, to the late Mari o n Howard Massee, Jr., and Eulalie Dorminy Massee.

Mrs. Register spent her childhood in Fitzgerald, attended Georgia State College of Women, and then graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business.

Following her graduation from UGA, Mrs. Register returned to Fitzgerald where she taught school.

She married John C. “Jack” Register, Jr. They eventually settled in Waycross where she worked alongside her husband at Register and Lanier Pharmacy. Mrs. Register was an avid golfer and a member of Okefenokee Golf and Country Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waycross and the Junior Woman’s Club.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Register was preceded in death by her husband, John C. “Jack” Register, Jr.; her son, John Marion Register; two brothers, Jack Massee, Marion Massee III; and a sister, Eulalie M. Woeltjen.

She is survived by her daughter, Claudia E. Register of Cleveland, N.C.; a granddaughter, Hilary Ellen Burton, and husband Andrew, of Waxhaw, N.C.; two great grandchildren, Margaret Burton and Greer Burton; and numerous other relatives.

The family would like to thank Baptist Village Retirement Communities for their loving care. A special heartfelt love and thank you to her caregivers and friends, Lisa, Lois, Amanda, Chris, Kenny and Tocarro.

A graveside service was held Saturday, August 23 in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald.
