WAYCROSS — Mr. Andy Rodney Whitaker, 57, of Waycross, died Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla., after an extended illness.

He was born June 30, 1968 in Waycross to Andy and Louise McCarty Whitaker. Whitaker had made Waycross his home for his entire life.

Growing up, he attended Astoria Baptist Church. Whitaker worked for J&J Dairy and Callahan Dairy.

He loved to work on cars, fish, and watch NASCAR. Whitaker loved spending time with his Pit Bull “Josie.” Whitaker had a great sense of humor, always making people smile and laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andy Whitaker.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Whitaker of Waycross; two sisters, Donnie Price and her husband, Mike, of Waycross, and Katherine Whitaker of Blackshear; his nephew, Drew Harris of Waycross; his girlfriend, Sherry Varnadore of Waycross; and numerous other relatives.
