Melvin Vierra
Born in Waialua, HI August 30, 1949, he lived in Broxton prior

to moving to Pierce County two years ago. He grew up in Hawaii and California prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, serving during Vietnam and retiring as a major.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, he went to work as a civilian contractor with the military. He loved being in the south and traveling especially to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. He enjoyed watching old movies, listening to classic rock and country music and going dancing. He was a selfless, giving man with a good sense of humor. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a son of the late Manal and Margaret Vierra. He was also preceded in death by his fiancé, Lorrie Hudson and a sister, Margaret Pearl Vierra.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Clyde and Vivian Vierra, Las Vegas, NV; his fiancé’s sons, Michael Hudson and Matthew Hudson; two step-grandchildren, Logan and Adalan; a sister, Melva Jean Vierra of Hawaii; a brother, Manal (Deborah) Vierra Jr., Trego, MT and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorialization was by cremation.
