Born in Coal Grove, Ohio, Mrs. Wasden’s parents were Paul V. McCarty and Edith Goings McCarty. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard McCarty and Manuel McCarty; one sister, Thelma Herrin; and a grandson, Patrick Carlson.

Mrs. Wasden was a faithful member of Ivory Palace Church and worked many years as a CNA. She enjoyed sewing, listening to gospel music, cooking, flowers, and loved her family.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-inlaw, Donald Wasden of Waycross and Perry Lane (Donna) of Waycross; a daughter, Cynthia D. Carlson, of Columbia, Ky.; seven grandchildren;

many great grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Mike Mc-Carty (Janice) of Orange Park, Fla., Quillian Mc-Carty of Hortense, and Randall McCarty of Waynesville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Martha McCarty Medders of Thomasville and Wilma Chesser (Johnny) of Hoboken; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside service was held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Hoboken City Cemetery with Bro. Randall McCarty officiating.

Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
