Jenny Amanda Altman
Mrs. Altman was born on November 22, 1950 to Nancy Louise (business owner and beaut ician) and Virgil (Jug) Wilson (electrician).
She grew up in Wauchula, Fla., where she enjoyed fishing and camping with her family at Fisheating Creek.
Mrs. Altman graduated high school from Hardee County High School in Wauchula and went on to get her teaching certification

from Valdosta State University in Georgia.
She touched many, many lives in her three decades as an elementary school teacher, ultimately settling in pre-k where she loved to sing, dance, and teach young minds.
Mrs. Altman loved to cook and feed people. She was well known for her pound cakes and spaghetti and meatballs. She loved food and going out to eat. Mrs. Altman loved cats, sci-fi movies and coffee ice cream. She was silly and loved to laugh.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and swimming. Mrs. Altman made things for people, and wrote letters, and thank you cards.
Mrs. Altman was a shining example of how true beauty comes from the inside, and in the way you treat other people. She taught us how to appreciate the simple beauty in life. Mrs. Altman taught us to see the hidden meaning in all of life’s ups and downs. She had a sweet, nurturing spirit and brought joy to everyone around her.
After an illness following the death of her husband, Steve, in 2014, she moved to Middle Georgia to be near family. Mrs. Altman spent her last decade making new friends, eating more good food, and spending time with her grandchildren. And most of all, smiling, laughing, and loving.
Mrs. Altman is survived by her daughter, Nancy Boyd; grandson, Phoenix Sikes; granddaughters, Darby and Lydia King; great-grandaughter, Raven Sikes; her daughter, Sarah Wilson-Davis Hamil (Charles), and grandsons. Wilby and Theo Hamil.
A celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, November 22, with close family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baldwin County Animal Shelter, Waycross-Ware County Library, or the Alzheimer Association.
