Henderson, 2016 Farmer

Cleve Henderson, long-time farmer, passed away Wednesday morning, April 23. He was two days shy of his 82nd birthday.

Henderson is remembered for his devotion to God, his family and farming.

Henderson farmed in Pierce County for more than six decades and was recognized as Pierce Henderson

County’s Farmer of the Year in 2016.

He was one of the founding members of Prime Produce, an organization aimed at promoting local agriculture.

Henderson was a faithful member and deacon at Rehobeth Baptist Church and a 1961 graduate of Blackshear High School.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 25, from the Rehobeth Baptist Church.
