Steigert

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Steigert’s parents were Chauncey Steigert and Barb ara Elsworth Steigert. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet; and a brother, Robert.

Steigert was a hardworking man who poured his energy into running his salvage yard. He had a sharp mind and a love for gambling, especially when it came to a good game of Black Jack. Those who knew him will remember his strong will, dry humor, and his unfiltered, honest nature that never failed to leave a lasting impression.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Steigert of Nahunta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Drew Lawton, Jr. (Angela) of Waverly and Timothy James Lawton (Vicki) of Ravenna, Mich.; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Hobson (Benjamin), Olivia Lawton and his heavenly grandson, Timothy Lawton, who was there to greet him; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

There will be no services at this time.
