Mrs. Garner was born August 19, 1931, in Lanier County to the late Russell McLain and Juanita Williams McLain. She gradu ated from Lake Park High School and received a degree in business administration from Valdosta State University. Mrs. Garner later obtained her master’s degree in education.

She and the late Rev. Dr. Hugh Price Garner were married on June 21, 1953. With a servant’s heart and an unshakeable faith, she served with
