James Michael ‘Mike’ Mercier
Born in Nahunta, his parents were James William Mercier and Cordie Pauline Baker Mercier. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Paula Kay Mercier.
Mercier served his community for 45 years as a Deputy with the Brantley County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara Williams Mercier; his son and daughter-in-law, Bubba Mercier (Christy); his daughter and son-inlaw, Tonya Mercier Crosby (Bengi), all of Hoboken; four grandchildren, Colt Crosby (Olivia), Aden Crosby (Jinsey), Grant Crosby and Cole Mercier; great grandchild, Grayson Westhafer, and another on the way; brother, Charles Raggland, of Dahlonega, Ga.; and a special niece and her spouse, Sherri Mc-Cormick (Tommy), of Boyce, La.; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, April 2) at Frye Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray McMillan and the Rev. Steve Beal officiating.
Burial will follow in Hoboken City Cemetery.
