HOBOKEN — Mrs. Doris T. Peacock, 87, died peacefully Monday, January 26, 2026, surrounded by her family at her residence in Hoboken.
Mrs. Peacock was born in Colquitt County to the late Newton Tillman and Ercie Sugg Tillman. She lived in Pierce County for several years and had made Hoboken her home since 2012.
Mrs. Peacock retired from the Pierce County Board of Education, where she worked as a dietitian at Blackshear Elementary School. She was a member of Alabaha Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, James A. Peacock; three sisters, Betty Courson, Mary Alice Martin and Judy Davis; and a son-inlaw, Wesley Dowling.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathy White (Bill) of Hoboken, Kimberly Dowling of Waycross and Kelly Smith (Randy) of Waycross; four grandchildren, Korey White (Nancy), Valerie Hickox, Vanessa Thrift and Parker White (fiancé Morgan Coleman); seven greatgrandchildren, Carmen Rogers, Chloe Rogers, Kaitlyn Bryan, Kacee White, Stella Thrift, Gray Thrift and Carter Boyd; one great-great granddaughter, Lila Bryan; two sisters, Robbie Brinson of Moultrie and Libby Wilkes of East Point, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrancements.
