Usher
HORTENSE — John Dale Usher, 66, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his home in Hortense with his beloved dog, Little Girl, by his side.
Usher was born October 30, 1959, in Brunswick to the late Sidney Usher Jr. and Cyndia Alice. He lived in Georgia the majority of his life.
Usher was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Usher and Cyndia Alice (Homes) Usher; and by his sister, Rosie Braisel (Roy).
He is survived by his estranged wife, Cheryl Ruggles; children, Katrina Smith (Jody), Jessica Torres (Edgar), Amy Walker (Freddie) and Sandra Usher; and a multitude of grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Sidney Usher; sister, Yvonne Taylor (Rodney); and number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial visitation was held Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Howard and Jones Funeral Home in Jesup.
Usher’s remains will be laid to rest at the foot of his parents gravesite at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.
