SYLVESTER — Ware County finished off a season sweep here Thursday of homestanding Worth County in non-region action.
The Lady Gators (9-11) posted a 59-46 victory in the opener over the Lady Rams (9-10), who had split their last 10 games. Ware County recorded 50-42 home victory in the December 4 matchup.
The Gators (20-3) moved their latest winning streak to five games improving to 11-1 since the calendar turned to 2026 with a 60-39 decision in the nightcap over the Rams (5-15), who dropped a fifth straight decision. Ware County rolled 6831 in the first meeting.
Head coach Lenny Williams has guided the Gators to their most victories since at least 2010. The Waycross Journal- Herald is researching past editions back to the 1993-94 consolidation to verify season-by-season records.
Lady Gators ..............................59 Worth County...........................46 Bailey Denton, Bre Hill and Lydia Munford reached double figures combining for 35 points to lead Ware County past the Lady Rams.
Denton (three treys) led the Lady Gators’ scoring attack for the second straight game finishing with 13 points.
Hill was next with 12 points - all in the first half. Munford (two treys) netted 10 points.
Ware County nailed a pair of treys in the opening period en route to building an 18-11 advantage. Hill matched Worth County’s second quarter point total scoring half of the Lady Gators’ points in the 16-8 scoring run extending the margin to 34-19 at intermission.
The Lady Rams clipped one point off the margin in each of the final two periods. Worth County used a 1413 scoring advantage in the third stanza to get to within 47-33. The Lady Rams outpointed Ware County 13-12 in the final quarter.
Nevaeh Norton (two treys) was next in the scoring column for the Lady Gators bagging eight points. Lauren Bell contributed six points with A’Treasure White finishing with fours. Charmaine Farell and Madisyn Daniels each bagged three points.
Worth County’s Janah Williams scored a game-high 20 points.

The Gators managed just a 7-6 lead in a cold-shooting opening period. The pace quickened in the second stanza with Ware County outscoring the Rams 21-16 forging a 28-22 halftime lead.
The visitors tightened up defensively coming out of intermission outscoring Worth County 15-5 to open up a comfortable 43-27 advantage. Ware County outpointed the Rams 17-12 in the final period.
Kevin Ramsey led the Gators with a game-high 14 points. Isaiah White (two treys) also reached double figures scoring 10 points. Masiyer McKoy was next with eight points.
Davion Jones and JaLondi’ O’Hara (trey) contributed seven points each. Luke Hinely (two treys) netted six points. Eugene Woods (trey) bagged five points with Travis Story chipping in three points.
Worth County was led by the 13-point effort of Caleb Thomas (two treys).
