HOMERVILLE — Clinch County’s Lady Panthers used a 17-4 run over the middle two quarters to open up an insurmountable lead in beating the Lady Bears 4024 in junior varsity action Monday.
The home team pulled away from a 13-8 first quarter advantage in the January 26 matchup. An 8-2 run in the second stanza pushed the Lady Panthers’ margin to 2110 by intermission.
Clinch County continued to widen its margin in the third period outscoring the Lady Bears 9-2 for a 30-12 lead. PCHS matched its point total from the first three quarters in outpointing the Lady Panthers 12-10 in the final period.
Kamil Strickland led the Lady Bears with 10 points. Aubree Wilkins and Azalea Mobley contributed five points and four points respectively. Jose’ziah James netted three points with Patience Smith bagging two points.
Clinch County’s Journee White (two treys) claimed game-high scoring laurels finishing with 14 points.
