Sharon A. McClain Kersey, 78, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday evening, January 29, 2023, at Harborview-Pierce County, following an extended illness.
Born January 8, 1945, in Dothan AL, she was a daughter of the late Alexander McClain and Erma Louise Cumerford Hansford. She lived in Fort Myers, FL and in Camden County for many years before moving to Pierce County in 2016. She was a retired retail clerk for Wal-Mart and was a Christian.
Survivors include her two daughters, Theresa Thomas (husband Keith), Moultrie and Pamela Haney (husband Mike), Blackshear; three grandsons, Stephen Waldee (wife Melissa), Simpsonville, SC, Brian Kirkland, Moultrie and Eric Kirkland (wife Abby), Trussville, AL; five great-grandchildren, Marilyn Waldee, Michael Waldee, Hilton Waldee, Elliot Kirkland and Taylor Bowles; two sisters, Edna McAfoos, Jacksonville, FL and Barbara Godshall of Kentucky ; brother, Wayne Maddox (wife Kathy), Brandon, FL and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorialization is by cremation.
