BCHS Lady Herons participate in 22-team Sweet Onion tourney

LYONS — Lillyan Combee, Abagail Fields and Sarah Trusty each finished second here Saturday in their respective weight classes during the 22-team Girls’ Sweet Onion Invitational traditional tournament hosted by Toombs County.

Crumby (120 lbs.) Fields (125) and Trusty (155) and were followed by the third-place showings of Cheryl Tenzca (100) and Karleigh Spurlock (155).

Aurora Edwards (170) placed fourth while Chloe Kohl (135), Sage Machado (140) and Madyson Clark (190) recorded fifth-place finishes.

Crumbley went 1-2 in her weight division opening with a pin (3:39). She fell 13-10 in sudden victory and lost via pin (1:53).

Fields finished 2-2. Both victories were by pin (5:33, 4:56) and both losses were by pin (1:18, 23 seconds).

Trusty finished 2-1 notching a pin (2:50) and a forfeit. She lost via pin (1:06).

Tenzca posted a 2-2 record. Her two victories were by pin (39 seconds, 54 sec.) with the two losses by pin (2:35, 42 sec.).

Spurlock went 1-2 with the victory a forfeit. She lost twice by pin (22 sec., 19 sec.).

Edwards forfeited each of her three matches.

Kohl followed suit with four forfeits.

Machado also forfeited four matches.

Clark posted a 1-4 record with the victory coming via forfeit. She lost her four matches by pin (1:16, 54 sec., 1:36, 26 sec.).
