UNDATED — Mr. John Huett Spaulding, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness.

He was born November 20, 1935, in Waycross to the late Harvey Dykes Spaulding and Annie Mae Kickl ighter Spauld ing. During his formative years, he enjoyed many adventures along the Altamaha River while growing up in Darien. He and his family later returned to Waycross, where he graduated from Waycross High School in 1953. Spaulding apprenticed locally and became a talented cabinet maker. He also worked as a boilermaker with CSX Transportation for more than 34 years.
First and foremost, Spaulding was a devoted and passionate follower of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His next greatest joy was being a loving and devoted husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, a brother, and a son, John Jacob Spaulding.
He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Beth Spaulding. Together, they raised numerous children, both their own and as committed and loving foster parents. He was a much-loved father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
A funeral service was held January 23 in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
