WCHS’s Miller captures weight division at girls’ tourney

LYONS — Ware County Lady Gators’ Hannah Miller captured the 170-lb. weight class here Saturday at the 22-team Girls’ Sweet Onion Invitational traditional tournament.

Miller (170 division) was one of seven Lady Gators to finish sixth or better. Audrina Streeter (110) and Natalie Scheuing (115) each placed third.

Emmelee Haddock (125) and Taylor Curnkelton (190) finished fourth in their respective weight classes. Emalee Hendrix (115) recorded a fifth-place showing with Destiny Allgood (190) finishing sixth.

No official points list has been released.

Miller went 3-0 recording consecutive pin wins (1:01, 1:00) following an opening forfeit.

Streeter finished 2-2 winning by pin (45 seconds) and recording a technical fall (17-2). Her losses were via pin (2:37, 2:55).

Scheuing posted a 1-2 mark opening with a pin (20 sec.) before suffering back-to-back pin losses (3:09, 1:07).

Haddock finished 2-2. She won via pin (3:12) and by forfeit. Her losses were by pin (38 sec., 39 sec.).

Curnkelton posted a 1-3 mark with the victory a pin fall (1:29). She suffered three pin defeats (47 sec., 2:41, 51 sec.).

Hendrix did not take the mat in any match finishing 0-4.

Allgood finished 0-5 losing her first two matches via pin (5:33, 1:48). She forfeited her final three matches.
