Special to the WJH Gabbie Howard fired a state qualifying score of 298 Friday leading the Ware County Gator rifle team over visiting Statesboro at the Ware County Shooting Range.
The Gators “A’ team shot 1,156 with 62 centers, while Statesboro finished at 1,069 with 24 centers in a match which inc luded Ware County “B” (1,054) and “C” teams (1,043).
Howard posted perfect 100-point scores in the kneeling and prone positions and a 98-point total in standing.
Following Howard were Autumn Buskirk (288), Camdyn Thornton (286), Angel Hernandez (284), Aniston Pittman (284), Grant Johnson (283) and Mason Briggs (276).
Ware County “B” was led the 269s of Nicholas Hensley and Hayden Lang. Ware County “C” received team-high scores from Zakyira Perry (275) and Nathan Casavant (274).
The Ware County 4-H was led by Greyson Christmas (288).
Groves visits Thursday at 5 p.m., with Southeast Bulloch coming to town Friday, January 30 at 5 p.m.
