Charles Foreman, former Blackshear City Councilman and retired rural letter carrier, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 6, at Satilla Bluffs Senior Living Center. He was 79.
Foreman served for 10 years on the city council representing district 5. He stepped down in 2011. He also retired following a long career as a rural letter carrier with the post office and had also worked before that as a Blackshear City Police officer.
He was a 1964 graduate of Blackshear High School and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
He loved restoring hot rods especially Corvettes and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed thrifting.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
