The City of Patterson has begun moving its public works and public safety operations in to the old Georgia Forestry Unit office on Main Street (Georgia Highway 32). The city obtained the property last summer.
Patterson Mayor Dedi Thomas said at Thursday’s city council meeting public works and the police department have begun using the facility.
Public Works Superintendent Tyler Stokes said the city has moved its Christmas decorations to storage at the site.
Thomas said roof leaks and mold at the old headquarters building are currently being address.
“We are fixing the roof and getting rid of the mold so we can get it ready to be occupied,” he said.
Plans call for the fire department to join the police department and public works department in the old forestry commission building.
