Okefenokee Heritage to host Book festival and local authors

The Okefenokee Heritage Center (OHC) will hold the “We Love Literacy” book festival 10 a.m. 4 p.m., Saturday, February 7 at OHC, 1460 N. Augusta Avenue in Waycross.

The festival, held in conjunction with Literacy Month, is currently seeking local authors of all ages and genres who would like to have space to sell their books.

There will be numerous activities available during the event. Vendors of all kinds also will be on hand.

There will be an active children's area, workshops by various presenters, readings by authors and a presentation hosted by the Alliance Theatre and the Georgia Council for the Arts entitled “Poetry Outloud.”

Set up for the event will be Friday afternoon, February 6 as well as early February 7.
