Pole Vault North America joins chamber of commerce

Pole Vault North America joins chamber of commerce

Blackshear is home to a new 501(c)3 nonprofit aimed at generating funds to build and certify pole vault training facilities in Southeast GA— and everywhere else in North America. Pole Vault North America recently joined the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and held its small but official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the start of their mission. Calvin Job Driggers, head of the new nonprofit, says the facilities will train not only the next generation of Olympic pole vaulters but also competitors in high jump and triple jump events. Pierce County already has certified facilities, but plans are in place to begin gathering donations to get Clinch, Brantley, Appling and Charlton counties certified. Shown above are (l-r) chamber ambassador Carolyn Still, Calvin Job Driggers, and Pierce Chamber Executive Director Christi Pitts.
