ALMA — A Bacon County jailer is out of a job and facing felony charges related to sexual contact with an inmate.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested 44-year-old David Christopher Jackson of Bacon County. “While it is embarrass-ing when we must arrest a staff member, I stand on transparency and impartiality,” said Bacon County Sheriff Andy Batten. “This type of behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone who commits a criminal act must be held accountable for their actions.”
Jackson is charged by the GBI with three felonies — one count of Improper Sexual Contact by Employee and one count of Items Prohibited for Possession by Inmates. Jackson was also charged with Violating Oath of Office as a Jailer with the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office in relation to the above charges. All three charges are felony offenses.
