SMB celebrates pastor anniversary Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1701 Martin Luther King Drive celebrates the second Pastoral Anniversary of the Rev. Allen Alonzo Dasher this week.
Special programs will be today (Wednesday, January 21), Thursday, January 22 and Sunday, January 25. Programs will be 7 p.m. during the week with the celebration culminating in a service at 3 p.m. January 25.
The Rev. Darren Jackson of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and the Rev. Jackie Hooper of New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church will lead the weekday programs. Bishop Stanley L. Countries of World Harvest Church International will deliver the sermon for Sunday’s closing service.
Theme for the occasion is “Called to Equip God’s People,” from Ephesians 4: 11-12.
No program for Aglow in January Waycross Aglow Lighthouse of Aglow, International will not have a meeting in January, spokesperson Rosalind Eskew said.
The next worship program will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 14 at at Our Beloved Church at the corner of Osceola Avenue and E. Washington Avenue.
Guest speaker for the next meeting will be Carolyn Williams, president of the Georgia State Aglow Team. She will share new insights and visions for the coming year from Aglow International, which is involved in 170 countries worldwide.
New Faith MBC holds services New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 1221 Thomas Street, is holding worship services at 11 a.m. the first and third Sunday of each month.
Bible Study is held weekly at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Church pastor is Dr. Travis L. Patterson, Sr.
DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.
The River Missions program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is January 23.

Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.
People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held February 6.
