No. 10 Lady Demons overwhelm WCHS; Gators win streak ends

WARNER ROBINS — Host Warner Robins’ 10th-ranked Lady Demons won a matchup of Region 1-AAAA co-leaders while the Demons forged a three-way tie at the top of the standings with a doubleheader sweep of Ware County Saturday.

The Lady Demons (16-3 overall, 3-0 region) posted a fifth consecutive victory beating the Lady Gators (6-10, 2-1), who have split their last four games, 65-28. Ware County upended Warner Robins 46-39 in a February 12, 2025 regular season meeting at home ending the Lady Demons’ 24-game winning streak for a split in the season series.

The Demons (9-10, 4-1), winners of five straight games, and ranked 34th by MaxPreps needed overtime to end the MaxPreps’ sixth-ranked Gators’ (15-3, 4-1) six-game winning streak escaping with a 70-63 decision. Ware County, Warner Robins and Wayne County are all tied for first.

The Gators entertained New Hampstead Tuesday (January 20). Ware County travels Friday, January 23 to Perry.

WCHS will host Long County for Senior Night Saturday, January 24 with the varsity girls tipping at 4 p.m. Ware County travels Tuesday, January 27 to Jesup to face Wayne County.

No. 10 Warner Robins........65 Lady Gators .......................28 Warner Robins outscored the Lady Gators by at least seven points in each quarter en route to taking the region lead.

The Lady Demons raced out to a 19-12 advantage through one period. They outpointed Ware County 12-4 in the second stanza to take a 31-16 halftime lead.

Warner Robins took full control of the game during the third quarter outscoring the Lady Gators 19-7 to open up a commanding 50-23 advantage. The host finished the game outpointing Ware County 15-5 during the final period.

Bre Hill topped the Lady Gators with nine points. Lydia Munford (two treys) and Ameria Burse were next with six points each.

Bailey Denton (trey) and Navaeh Norton netted three points and two points respectively. A’Treasure White and Ri’Janae Buford netted a free throw apiece.

Ware County struggled from the free throw line converting just 7-of-24 attempts.

The Lady Demons’ Kennedy Bradshaw nearly matched Ware County’s output scoring 18 of her game-high 27 points in the second half. She also drilled five treys.

Warner Robins ..................70 Gators .........................63, OT The Demons pulled away from a 58-all deadlock at the end of regulation outscoring Ware County 12-5 in the overtime session.

The Gators overcame a ninepoint deficit in the final eight minutes. Down 44-36, Ware County outscored the Demons 22-13 to force the four-minute extra period.

Warner Robins claimed a sevenpoint advantage at end of the first period at 17-10. The Gators trimmed four points off the margin during the second quarter outscoring the home team 17-13 to trail 3027 at intermission.

The Demons added five points to its lead by the end of the third canto outscoring Ware County 14-9 for the 44-36 advantage.

Kevin Ramsey paced the Gators’ scoring attack with a game-high tying 21 points. Isaiah White (three treys) was next with 16 points.

Davion Jones and Masiyer McKoy netted eight points apiece. Ja’Londi O’Hara bucketed five points. Elan Jones and Dallas Vinson contributed three points and two points respectively.

Ware County made just 15-of-24 free throws while the Demons finished 24-of-29 at the free throw line.

Warner Robins was led by Triston Warren’s 21 points. Gavin Williams tallied 19 points.
