‘Gege’ Nettles

Gwendolyn "Gege" Ann Nettles, 58, of Brunswick, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her residence.
She was born August 13, 1967, in Valdosta, to Howard Edward Cox Sr. and Patricia Ann Strickland Cox. She had lived in Brunswick since 1969, attending Glynn County Schools and graduating with the Class of 1985 from Brunswick High School. She had worked at the Georgia Pine Federal Credit Union, New Life Sanctuary and most recently worked with the Glynn County Sheriff's Office.  She was an active member of Turning Point Church.
Family was everything to her. She genuinely loved her family and friends. Holidays were louder, gatherings were funnier and memories were richer because of her. She had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed and unconditionally loved. She shared a deep bond with her parents and siblings until she went to her heavenly home.
Her greatest joy was being a mother. She had a talent for making her children’s lives special by turning the smallest moments into treasures. Her love for her boys was unconditional and endless. Becoming a grandmother was one of her greatest blessings in life. She cherished her role as “Honey Gege” in the lives of Jaxon and Lola.
Survivors include her children, Logan Nettles, and Skyler AJ Nettles (Gloria); grandchildren, Jaxon Nettles and Lola Ann Nettles; parents, Eddie and Patricia Cox; siblings, Howard Cox (Jessica), Bonnie Dent (Gerald) and Wendee Kennedy (Dewayne); nieces and nephews, Marshall and Makenzie Cox, Chamberlain and Alina Dent, Jack, Isabelle, Gracee and Mary Margaret Kennedy.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23 from the Turning Point Church with Pastor Justin Long and Brother Jack Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Strickland Cemetery in Patterson.
At her request, to celebrate her life, she has requested that everyone in attendance be joyful and wear your favorite colors.
Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory of Brunswick has been entrusted with the arrangements.
