Empty Stocking Fund gives back to community

Empty Stocking Fund gives back to community

Empty Stocking Fund for 2025 exceeded the holiday fundraising event’s charitable donations from the previous year. A final anonymous donor in the first week of the new year brought the total funds contributed to $1,000. All the proceeds from donations were evenly split between two worthy organizations directly helping those in need in Pierce County, the Pierce Food Pantry and The Sycamore Tree. Pictured above, The Times publisher Sandra Head (center) passes off a check to Albert Sutton of the Food Pantry (left) and Angel Knowlton of The Sycamore Tree (right). The Times’ parent company, Head Publications, LLC, also runs an Empty Stocking fundraiser for Ware county through its sister newspaper the Waycross Journal- Herald. “This is just another way for your local newspaper to help its readers and the community,” said Head. “We hope to do even more in 2026!”
