Steven Warren Jr. can now add the distinction of doctor before his name. Enrolled as an out-of-state student at Concordia University Wisconsin, Warren recently graduated with a doctorate in physical therapy (DPT).
Concordia’s DPT program has historically drawn students from across the nation, including Warren.
Warren, currently living in Rhode Island, recognizes Blackshear as his hometown. He is the son of Steven and Elizabeth Warren, grandson of Carrie and Eddie Spearman, Clyde and Marie James and great-grandson of Sammie Warren and Lizzie Reid. In a ceremony filled with joy and gratitude, Warren celebrated his graduation from the DPT program as a personal milestone that highlights not only his academic achievements but also his dedication to serving others.
As he crossed the stage to receive his degree, Warren reflected on how his journey was more than just a pursuit of education. This was his calling.
“I believe that healing isn’t just about the body. It’s about the soul too,” said Warren. “I want to be a vessel of God’s grace, bringing comfort and restoration to those in need.”
Friends and family say Warren has demonstrated a deep commitment to both his studies and the people he served throughout his years in the program.
The ceremony was attended by members of Warren’s family, friends and community, who have supported him every step of the way.
His parents shared how proud they were of their son’s growth, progressing not only in knowledge but also character and faith.
As for the future, Warren says he is eager to use his skills to help others in the name of faith and compassion.
For Warren, achieving his doctorate was not just about entering a profession. Guided by his faith, he is continuing a mission to bring healing and hope.
