The City of Waycross has started its special bulk waste collection program for 2026.
The first full week of each month, a dumpster will be located in one of the city’s five districts for citizens to deposit items. This week, the receptacle is located in Zone 3 at Elizabeth Park, 802 Howe Street. It will be there through Friday, January 16.
Citizens from around the city can drop off items, not just those who live in the zone where the dumpster is located during the month, The free service is designed to help clear clutter, reduce illegal dumping, and improve the look of the city.
The program will continue throughout the year circulating monthly from one district to another.
Any household items can be deposited such as furniture, mattresses, chairs, etc. Prohibited items are household trash, construction or demolition debris, tires, batteries, electronics, chemicals or other hazardous materials.
All items must be placed inside the dumpster. Public Works will monitor the site and empty the container daily to keep the area safe and organized.
The city holds a similar monthlong cleanup campaign in the spring and fall in which the dumpster spends a week in each of the districts.
