No program for Aglow in January Waycross Aglow Lighthouse of Aglow, International will not have a meeting in January, spokesperson Rosalind Eskew said last week.
The next worship program will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 14 at at Our Beloved Church at the corner of Osceola Avenue and E. Washington Avenue.
Guest speaker for the next meeting will be Carolyn Williams, president of the Georgia State Aglow Team. She will share new insights and visions for the coming year from Aglow International, which is involved in 170 countries worldwide.
SMB celebrates pastor anniversary Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1701 Martin Luther King Drive celebrates the second Pastoral Anniversary of the Rev. Allen Alonzo Dasher on Tuesday-Thursday, January 20-22 and Sunday, January 25.
Programs will be 7 p.m. during the week with the celebration culminating in a service at 3 p.m. January 25. Bishop Stanley L. Countries of World Harvest Church International will deliver the sermon for the closing service.
Theme for the occasion is “Called to Equip God’s People,” from Ephesians 4: 11-12. Numerous other churches will be on programs to honor Dasher.
Black Light show at Sweat Memorial Sweat Memorial Baptist Church, 510 W. Blackshear Avenue, welcomes the Black Light Extravaganza, at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, February 1.
The presentation by First Baptist Church of Alma, features The Potters House with “puppets” dressed in brilliant colors performing live in a black light setting to enhance the experience.

DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The ministry serves people from more than a dozen counties in southeast Georgia and north Florida.
River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.
The River Missions program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is January 23.

Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.
People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held February 6.

Feed My Sheep seeks donations Peter Feed My Sheep food ministry is accepting donations for its meal program for the homeless.

Gaines Chapel seeks rehab funds Gaines Chapel AME Church, 801 South Georgia Parkway East, has a fund-raising campaign via GoFundMe to help rehabilitate and restore the historic church.
The church is among the oldest in Waycross dating to the late 1800s.
