CANEY BAY — Brantley County splitting a Region 1-A doubleheader here Friday night against visiting Thomasville.
The Lady Herons (10-3 overall, 12 region) picked up their first region win surviving an overtime thriller in winning the opener 58-54 over the Lady Bulldogs (7-3, 0-2), who lost for the third time in four games after a 6-0 start to the season.
Thomasville (4-6, 2-0) rallied over the final 16 minutes to notch a 70-54 victory over the Herons (5-8, 1-2), who lost for the third time in four games.
