BEARVILLE — Pierce County opened up the second half of the 2025-26 season splitting with visiting Crisp County in the Region 3-AA opener for both schools.
The Lady Bears (3-7 overall, 1-0 region) ended a three-game losing streak Friday, January 2 with a 51-38 victory over the Lady Cougars (2-8, 0-1) who lost for the third straight time.
The Cougars (9-2, 0-1) improved their winning streak to four games in the nightcap while handing the Bears (3-7, 0-1) a fourth consecutive loss winning 62-53.

Isabella Marx, Madi McGatha and Claire Murray each scored game-high tying 14 points leading PCHS past the Lady Cougars.
Marx netted 12 of her points over the final two periods. McGatha bagged eight points in the first period and had 10 points by intermission.
Worth County junior quarterback Lyndon Worthy, Worth County (6-3, 180), senior running back Kaden Chester, Worth County (5-8, 150) and senior tight end Jayden Farley (6-0, 195) were named to the First Team offense.
Thomasville senior wide receiver Nigel Pittman 6-foot, 190) and Fitzgerald junior offensive lineman David Ford 6-3, 270) also grabbed First Team laurels along with junior defensive back Anthony Hill Jr. (5-11, 185) and junior punter Makari Williams (5-9, 160).
Earning honorable mention were Fitzgerald’s senior “Athlete’ Victor Copeland (5-10, 150) and senior linebacker Tyson King (6-1, 220), Thomasville senior quarterback Cam Hill (6-2, 205), and the Jeff Davis duo of sophomore “Athlete” Mark Durden (5-10, 160) and senior linebacker Latrell Sellers (6-2, 215).
In Class A DII, Clinch County teammates joining Causey with honorable mention status were junior linebacker Kyiis Mingo (5-11, 200) and sophomore quarterback Traviian Miller (6-2, 185).
Also named honorable mention were Atkinson County senior running back/linebacker Darrian Roberts (5-10, 190) and Charlton County senior running back/defensive back Brandon Woolard (59, 175).
The only other Region 2-A member school with representation was Brooks County with First Team senior wide receiver Traeviss Stevenson (6-1, 180) and senior defensive lineman Demarrion Washington (6-1, 250).
