Bryant
MOBILE, Ala. — Angela Denise Bryant, age 72, was called to her eternal home on December 24, 2025 in Mobile, Alabama.
Mrs. Bryant was the first child of Ruth Ola Harrell and James Matthew (J.M.) Strickland, born May 26, 1953 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Her parents moved back to Waycross where she was raised near both sets of grandparents, twodozen aunts and uncles as well as too many cousins to count.
She graduated with the Brantley County High School Class of 1971.
Those who knew Mrs. Bryant will always remember her for the passion she had for collecting family history. This passion was ignited when she worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Family History Archives in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mrs. Bryant never missed an opportunity to collect family stories, photos and records for herself and anyone who would talk to her. Her last day was spent furiously filling out a 15-generation family tree chart for one of her grandchildren’s Christmas gift.
Service was always on Mrs. Bryant’s mind. She served in her community, church and family at every opportunity.
In Camden County, she worked tirelessly to support a community theater and a choral group. At church she held any job she was given, organist, pianist, leadership, etc. but she loved teaching most. She taught Sunday school right up until she got too sick to stand.
Mrs. Bryant was predeceased by both of her parents and their respective second spouses, James Leonard Kreis and Geraldine Mobley.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, James Richard Bryant; her four children, Traci Marie Bunkley, Jennifer Michelle Lee-Brown, James Richard Bryant II and Rebecca Felice Bryant; her five grandchildren, Ashleigh Nicole Nuttall, Ryan Anthony Bunkley, Courtney Michelle Chubb, Chloe Louise Brown and Claire Lauren Brown; six great grandchildren, Kaia Cherry (Sol) Nuttall, Bentley Ryan Bunkley, Jake Tucker Bunkley, Thea Marie Lynn Nuttall, Kainoa Fleetwood Nuttall and Cecila Ivelle (Ivy) Nuttall; brother and three sisters, James Craig Strickland, Leslie Diane Williams, Glenda Elizabeth Nettles and Allison Wylene Galloway; three nieces, two nephews and three step-siblings.
