Energy assistance program now available

A federally funded energy assistance heating program administered by Family and Children Services begins January 2026. Funds are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, firstserved basis.

Only households where all adult members are 65 or older or all adult members are medically homebound may apply, beginning 8:30 a.m., January 5, 2026. All other low-income households may apply beginning February 2, 2026, if funds are still available.

Eligibility for this program is determined by the total income of all adults living in the household along the following guidelines: one person $34,549, two people $45,179, three people $55,810, four people $66,441, five people $77,071, six people $87,702, seven people $89,695 and eight people $91,688.
