Griffin
WAYCROSS — James “Larry” Griffin, age 74, of Waycross passed away suddenly Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Born and raised in Waycross, Griffin spent his life serving his comm unity and the people he cared for most.
He was a Master Plumber and owner of Larry Griffin Plumbing since 1980, working in Ware, Camden and surrounding counties. Known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature, Griffin took pride in his trade and the many years he dedicated to helping others.
Outside of work, Griffin enjoyed many years of coaching little league baseball, mud bogging and fishing on the pier at the beach. He found joy in the outdoors and in spending time with family and friends.
His greatest happiness came later in life when he earned his favorite title of all, “Pop.” Griffin cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Griffin was preceded in death by his mother, Ineva Gilliard Griffin; and his father, Gaston “Preacher” Griffin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sandra Carr Griffin; his son, Josh Griffin and his wife, Challie; his grandchildren, Lillie Griffin and Jaxon Griffin; his special brother-in-law, Larry Carr and wife, Patti; his sisterin- law, Glenda Bashlor and husband, Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, December 31) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
