The Waycross Journal-Herald’s 2025 Empty Stocking Fund reached a final total of $10,365.
Both DFCS and the Salvation Army received checks totaling $9,575 ($4,787.59) before Christmas. Each will receive a second check for $395 splitting the $790 taken in the last 10 days of 2025.
Donations were received from:
• $250: In memory of Roy Harris;
• $100: Anonymous.
Donations this year to the annual fundraiser have pushed the newspaper’s effort total to $332,874.64 since 1984.
Since 2019 under Head Publishing, LLC., the Empty Stocking Fund has collected $65,196.50 and surpassed the $10,000mark five times in six years.
“I would like to thank everyone who made contributions this year,” said Publisher Rick Head. “This is a great cause that dates back to the Williams family.”
