MSH offers birthing classes

Does your family have a baby on the way?

Memorial Satilla Health will hold bi-monthly maternity classes and monthly tours of its Birthing Center (third floor) in 2026.

Tours and classes are held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Birthing Center Conference Room, 1900 Tebeau Street. Those interested can register at memorialsatillahealth.com/calendar.

Classes will be held beginning Monday, January 19 followed by others March 23, May 18, July 20, September 21 and November 16.

Birthing Center Tours are set for Saturday, January 10, February 8, March 6, April 7, May 6, June 11, July 10, August 9, September 6, October 12, November 10 and December 11.

Class topics will include breastfeeding, Cesarean sections (C-sections), diet and exercise, preparing for labor and delivery, relaxation techniques and vaginal deliveries.

“As your partner in care, Memorial Satilla Health provides a customized birthing experience that begins long before your first contraction and continues well after delivery,” said Haley Dixon, director of women’s and children’s services. “We want to help you be as prepared as possible for your birth experience.

“Our maternity class will help you and your family prepare for childbirth and learn what to expect after your baby is born.”

Memorial Satilla Health is a mission- driven, community-based health system with a 231-bed fullservice hospital.

The hospital’s tradition of care began more than 60 years ago and continues with more than 600 employees, physicians and volunteers.

The hospital serves as regional referral center for more than 185,000 residents across nine counties in Southeast Georgia. Key services include a ER where more than 47,000 emergencies are treated annually as well as heart, cancer, surgery, rehabilitation, and sleep centers with specialists trained specifically for the needs.
