Ware County High School’s JV Manabat was honored as Youth of the Month for December 2026, recognizing his exceptional academic achievement, leadership and community service.
Presented by the Waycross Exchange Club, the award highlights Manabat’s commitment to excellence across multiple domains. With a perfect 4.0 GPA, a 1300 SAT score, and a rigorous course load including 10 AP classes, 6 dual enrollment courses, and 9 honors classes, Manabat ranks 12th out of 375 students in his class.
Beyond academics, Manabat serves as Georgia Future Business Leaders of America State Secretary, Region 2 President and Co-President of his school’s FBLA chapter. He also holds leadership roles in DECA, Beta Club, Hospice Satilla and the Waycross Bank & Trust Junior Board of Directors.
His FBLA efforts have led to historic chapter growth, state-level competition wins and innovative systems to boost student engagement.
Manabat’s service record includes more than 120 hours of volunteer work, contributions to local nonprofits, and active participation in school advisory councils.
He also works part-time at Batten’s Prescription Shoppe while pursuing his pharmacy technician license.
“JV exemplifies the spirit of service and scholarship we aim to uplift,” said Danny Bartlett, Youth of the Month Chair. “His leadership is not only impressive — it’s inspiring.”
The award ceremony was attended by club president Kirby McSwain, Ware County Schools Supt. Dr. Lynn Barber, JV’s mother, Kaye Manabat, 2026 Cohort Counselor Bess Davis, Futures Center Advisor Cheryl Bennett and Bartlett with each offering congratulations and encouragement for the honoree’s continued success.
