Nahunta man dies in 1-car, early Christmas morning accident

NAHUNTA — A 36year-old man died early Christmas morning when the vehicle he was driving crashed on Little Buffalo Creek Road off Baker Creek Road.

Timothy Martin “Roadhog” Lane of a Nahunta address was pronounced dead at the scene following the Dec ember 25, 2025 wreck at approximately 12:52 a.m.

According to the report of Georgia State Trooper Gentry Mattox released Monday, December 29, Lane was driving a 1994 Nissan truck traveling south on little Buffalo Creek Road.

The Nissan entered a slight left curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle traveled south in the west ditch for 175 feet striking a large tree with its left front coming to an immediate stop.

A call was placed to the Brantley County Corner.

Thomas and Sons removed the vehicle.

Lane was a heavy equipment operator for Rowland Land Clearing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing, hunting for arrow heads, singing (better known as making up his own lyrics) and telling jokes.

Survivors include his son, Kolt Martin McNabb of Nahunta; his mother, Sheila Wainright (Mike Walker) of Nahunta; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Leroy Lane, Jr. (Alisha) of Nahunta; sister, Nikki Lane of Nahunta; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Saturday, December 27, 2025 at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.
