HORTENSE — Penny Zundel Miller, 80 of Hortense, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025 at her residence after a short illness.
Mrs. Miller was born in Phoenix, Ariz., to the late Ermel Harding Zundel and Dorothy Onida Hutchison Zundel. She lived in Arizona for over 50 years where she worked for Wells Fargo and AIG Broker Services for many years.

After retirement, the Millers moved to Hortense in 2017. She was a member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Mrs. Miller always enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Hardy Zundel; four brothers-inlaw, William Voight, Gary Kaiser, Calvin Miller and Framan Miller.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Henry Miller, Jr. of Hortense; one son and daughter- in-law, Wesley and Stacey Miller of Nahunta; one daughter, Denise Miller of Hortense; five grandchildren, Tanner Stewart, Jason Stewart, Alyssa Miller, Emily Miller and Cody Miller; four great-grandchildren, Paisleigh, Beau, Dakota and Jason, Jr.; two sisters, Pamela Voigt of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Peggy Kaiser of Paradise Valley, Ariz.; three nieces, Tina, Tori and Nikki; one nephew, Kevin; and other relatives.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, December 31, 2025) from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., at Twin Rivers Baptist Church.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., at Twin Rivers Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bryan officiating.
Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
