Pierce County’s “Empty Stocking Fund” will close out this Friday, January 2, 2026. The fund stands at $900 with no new donations this week.Anyone wishing to make a donation to the fund is asked to do so by this Friday.
Monies collected for the fund will be evenly distributed to assist two well-known local charities, the Pierce County Food Pantry and The Sycamore Tree in the coming week.
Previous contributions include three anonymous donations, Comfort Chapel Church, In honor of Ivy Smith Mock, In honor of Melanie Tuten, two in memory of Tristan Aspinwall, In memory of Ned Baumbach, In memory of Donald Trull, Melissa Lee and Suni’s Ceramic Christmas Trees.
Donations to the fund may be delivered from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., weekdays to The Times office at 126 NW Central Avenue, Blackshear or mailed to: Empty Stocking Fund, The Blackshear Times, P.O. Box 410, Blackshear, GA 31516.
