WAYCROSS — Pierce County Middle School’s swim program finished second here at the YMCA in the “Reindeer Splash” hosted by the Waycross Middle School-Ware County Middle School teams.
The Lady Bears won the girls’ division with the Bears finishing third.
PCMS’s Katie Thompson finished first in the 200yard freestyle event with a time of 3:23.94 for the lone individual win.
The Lady Bears captured two relay events. The 200yard medley relay team (2:49.47) of Samaree Jernigan, Lily Gray Wright, Lakota Davis and Ryleigh Taylor clipped their teammates consisting of Emma Sergent, Erica Coggin, Charli Paszko and Thompson (2:49.72) for a firstand second-place finish.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Wright, Sergent, Davis and Paszko were captured first with a time of 2:12.44.
Logging runner-up finishes were Erica Coggin (3:27.36) in the 200 free, Sergent with a personalbest in the 50 butterfly (40.10 seconds), and Wright in both the 50 breaststroke (44.9 sec.) and 100 intermediate (1:34.58).
Finishing third were Davis in the 100 free (1:18.05) and the 200 free relay team of Thompson, Jernigan, Coggin and Taylor (2:31.45).
The Bears’ Jaxon Coats finished first in the 200 free (2:41.09), second in the 100 IM (1:20.82) and third in both the 50 butterfly (37.26 sec.) and 50 breaststroke (37.91 sec.)
The 200 free relay team made up of Jeremiah Henderson, Eli Thorne, Ian Martinez and Coates finished third (2:52.93).
